Building a better community, one dog park at a time!

We are citizens of Carson City, NV and surrounding areas who have come together to realize a common goal, obtaining high quality and fun parks which are dedicated to serving the needs of dog owners. We are a non-profit 501c3 and work closely with the Carson City Parks and Recreation department, which allows us access to many of the city's numerous land resources.

Why build a dog park?

Some of the community benefits of a dog park include:

1. A safe environment to socialize and exercise dogs

2. Helps to promote responsible pet ownership

3. Provides elderly and disabled owners with an accessible place to exercise their furry companions

4. Enables dogs to legally run off-leash

Doesn't Carson City already have dog parks?

Carson City currently has dog 'friendly' parks which do allow dogs off leash, but because these areas are not true dog parks there are limitations, such as times that dogs are allowed or are not allowed, closure to the park due to special events, and increased confrontations between dog owners and park users without dogs. Additionally, none of the dog-friendly parks are completely fenced in and many are not very accessible to elderly and disabled dog owners. A fenced in dog park would not only provide a safe enclosed area that is accessible to everyone, regardless of physical limitations, but it would also guarantee a fun place designed specially for dogs and their owners without any time limitations or special event closures!
